A move in the right direction…wow!

It’s something that’s always confused me a little bit. Every time I visit someone in the hospital, it seems like they’re being served the Standard American Diet (SAD) instead of good, healthy food. It was Hippocrates who said “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” and we couldn’t agree more.
We’ve written before about the clear benefits of organic produce and why it’s so important to avoid pesticides, and one hospital in Pennsylvania is on board with helping cure folks with good, organic food.
St. Luke’s University Health Network has launched a farm to hospital program. St. Luke’s has 300 acres of farm land, which historically was used for monocultural agriculture, growing foods like soybeans and corn. But the hospital decided to use the land to farm a wide variety of organic vegetables instead.
